About me, Pamela
Okay, so you’re here because you want to get to know me a little bit more, right? Less about design rules, colors, and all the reasons your website should be different and more about who I am... 🌌
I’m a creative who loves to notice things. Colors, patterns, tile combinations, light and shade games... Basically how spaces feel and how small details change the way we experience something. I find beauty in those small, often overlooked moments.
Design matters deeply to me, but it’s good design, the kind that shapes how we feel, how we understand things, and how a message is delivered, that fascinates me the most.
Hi there, I'm Pamela
I grew up in a small town where language moved in two directions
I saw Spanish and English mix and play everywhere, on the streets, on TV, and on the radio, and it shaped the way I understand communication in a very specific way.
I learned to pay attention not just to what is said, but how it’s said, and how meaning can shift depending on context, tone, and culture.
The beggining: noticing things 🪅
Long before graphic design became my career, it was already part of who I was. As a kid, I was drawn to color, details, and the way things were presented.
I noticed illustrations in books (they made a big impact on me), patterns on notebook covers, and I organized things by color, by instinct. I drew, and I collected tools that allowed me to create. It wasn’t something I was taught. It was instinct.
I studied graphic design at a university surrounded by mountains, where studying and running to the library were pretty much the main activities. College was a huge part of my life. It’s where I learned the tools I use today and earned my degree as a graphic designer.
This picture was literally the first vector illustration I ever traced. I also have to mention that Helga Pataki is a character I’ve always liked a lot, so I created my own version of her for a school project, which you can spot in the background.
Early years in graphic design
The label era
My first official job as a graphic designer was at a protein manufacturing company, where I designed product labels. During my first week, I was already looking for a new job and going to interviews during my lunch breaks.
A one-week adventure
After that, I took a job at a wedding video production company, but I was let go after only a week. The position turned out to be very different from what I had been led to expect, and for a brief moment, I questioned leaving the label company.
Discovering web design
Eventually, I found my way into web design at an SEO agency through someone I met at a concert. That’s where I started working with WordPress. I spent two years there designing websites, developing new skills, and learning about SEO.
Going Freelance, choosing Freedom
I’ll always be grateful for that company. Eventually, I realized it was time to move on. After requesting to work from home two days a week and having that request denied, I started reflecting on where I was professionally. At that point, I felt like I wasn’t learning anything new anymore, and the work had become repetitive during my last 6 months there.
By then, I already had my website up and running, so it was up to me to find clients and build my own path. I took the leap, left the agency, and started freelancing full-time.
My 2026 freelancer journey is still growing
Right now, my work goes beyond digital design. I’m discovering so many parts of my talent that I wasn’t even aware of before. I’ve taken on hand-painted projects, murals, and window painting, while continuing my career in digital design.
And that combination is something I truly love, because one thing I always want in my career is to never get bored of the projects I take on.
Becoming a designer in a world transformed by technology and social media, and AI
I came of age as a designer while technology and social media were transforming the world. I didn’t just learn design. I lived through its evolution. That experience taught me to adapt, stay curious, and never rely on formulas. The work is alive. It changes. So do I.
